Apple Cider Syrup

1-1/2 cup unsweetened apple cider
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
10 whole cloves
1 stick cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in a small heavy saucepan. Place over medium heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until thickened and reduced to 3/4 cup. Discard cloves and cinnamon stick. Serve warm. Yields 3/4 cup.
